It has been a flurry of American players exiting the Miami Open. With the tournament taking place in Miami, everyone expected the American players to thrive in these couple of weeks. However, it has been the complete opposite and fans are raging about it. 

Almost all the top-seeded Americans were knocked out of the Masters 1000. It started with the loss of Frances Tiafoe, who still hasn’t taken off in 2024. Following him was Tommy Paul, who was forced to retire after an injury scare. Finally, it was top-ranked American Taylor Fritz himself who was outplayed in the Round of 64.

Ranked at No. 12 in the world, Fritz started his run after a first-round bye against Thiago Seyboth Wild. Fritz, who had a lot of hopes riding on him, saw a major defeat, adding to America’s vain.

However, interestingly enough, with all these disappointing losses, fans have brutally blasted all the American players for their poor outings.

American players have not made their mark on the grand stage. Though they have won tournaments in America, they have failed to replicate the same on bigger stages. This disappointing incident continued as three top American players were knocked out of the Miami Open.

Tiafoe, Paul, and Taylor Fritz were all shown the exit in their respective matches, eliciting a plethora of reactions online. That’s not all; these players also had to face the wrath of the fans online, who were livid with them.

Now, all eyes are shifted to young talent Ben Shelton, who has been having a good season so far. He has not won a title yet but has consistently been running deep in the tournaments.
