Alexander Zverev claims he’s a Grand Slam contender once again with eyes locked on the 2024 Australian Open

German tennis ace Alexander Zverev feels he is back in the race for Grand Slam titles after securing some big wins in the 2023 season. The World No.7 who won two titles in 2023 and made it to a few semifinals and finals seems to have regained his confidence after he was thrown off the road due to injury at the 2022 French Open.

The 26-year-old claims to have overcome the insecurity that came with his career-threatening injury. Zverev is now ready to take on his opponents with more confidence than before as he believes that he is a serious contender for Grand Slam titles. Zverev has said that he is looking forward to the big events of the 2024 season.

Alexander Zverev is ready to defend his gold medal at 2024 Paris Olympics

Not just Grand Slam titles, Alexander Zverev is also ready to defend his gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The German beat Russian Karen Khachanov in the final to take the gold medal in the men’s singles event. Zverev had defeated Novak Djokovic in the semifinals before he ousted Khachanov.

Now, as the Olympics return and is slated to be held in Paris, Zverev is excited about representing his country at the highest level. The 26-year-old, who is currently playing for Germany in the 2024 United Cup said he is ready to defend his gold medal and is also excited about staying in the Olympic Village.

It’s definitely something that I really am much looking forward to, as defending champion. I think the Olympics are always very, very special. It is probably the biggest event of the year, in my opinion, in my eyes, because the Olympics is once every four years. It is special in that regard.

It is worth mentioning that Zverev is expected to do some wonders in 2024. He has the backing of a few renowned names. Boris Becker is one such name who has full faith in the 26-year-old. The former German ace who is currently working with Holger Rune had backed Zverev to win a Grand Slam title soon.
