Such an incident happened to the German tennis player Alexander Zverev. He landed in China to prepare for the upcoming tournament and was heartily welcomed by fans.
The fans surprised the German by giving him a few gifts on his arrival. “I love my Chinese fans” shared Alexander Zverev on his Instagram stories along with the pictures of the gifts he had received. Amid the flurry of welcome gifts, Zverev received a bunch of animated stickers of himself, a phone case with pictures of 2 charming dogs, a few trinkets that showcased the beauty of China’s most iconic animal, the Panda, and a photo collage of his victories and most cherished moments. The gifts were a testament to Zverev’s popularity in China and the deep appreciation his fans have for him.
The player has been to China occasionally and has always been received with a warm welcome. The gifts were crafted out of love from the fans and surely brightened up the mood for the German.

Alexander Zverev re-entered the ATP top 10 after a memorable 2023 US Open. The German returned from his injury to face the competitive challengers in the US Open. He made it to the quarter-finals by cruising through Aleksandar Vukic, Daniel Altmaier, Grigor Dimitrov, and Jannik Sinner where he lost to the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in 3 straight sets. By reaching the quarterfinals, he jumped up 2 places in the ranking board re-entering the top 10.

In a post-match interview, the German blamed his loss on his hamstring strain, which could have been another injury scare. “I was in the match the first set,” the German said. “I could have broken, it could have gone my way, it didn’t. Then the second set I felt something in my hamstring glute, left side,” said Zverev in the interview. He has recently landed in China to prepare for the Upcoming China Open. With his good US Open run behind him, Zverev walks into the tournament to improve his ranking even more and possibly win the tour.
