The Wimbledon organizers decided against setting up the Center Court with just one court, which would have pleased Alexander Zverev. Zverev claimed that Jannik Sinner, a player with less experience, won the match instead of him and the other contenders. After winning the second round, Zverev publicly criticized Sinner’s ability to participate in the match while hiding his identity. He believed that several other tennis stars had achieved more than him and, as a result, should have been chosen over him.

“I like Jannik.  He’s incredible and will win a lot. But other names hadn’t played R1 yet. Berrettini, who played a Final here, or me. I don’t know if Jannik has to be put on a court with a roof for R2. Other names achieved more,” Zverev said in the German part of the presser.

Sinner’s talent was acknowledged by Zverev, who also highlighted that it would be unfair to rank Sinner higher than rivals like himself and Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini. Zverev claimed that the organizers had received additional recommendations that would be helpful, and he added that these possibilities could be taken into consideration. Because of the German’s remarks, there seems to have been an increase in players’ dissatisfaction with court placements over the past few years.

Zverev’s displeasure stems from his belief that the event’s organizers neglected to fully consider some players’ accomplishments, which are typically quite significant. While Zverev admits that he was aware of Sinner’s potential, he contends that there were a majority of other competitors who had already found success and merited the opportunity to covertly compete on the Centre Court in a particularly significant manner.

In court assignments, Jannik Sinner is given preference by the organizers, according to Alexander Zverev. Expressed his displeasure with the decision to give Sinner more attention than other deserving competitors in his criticism of Wimbledon’s officials.

Zverev’s criticism of Wimbledon’s administrators reflects his displeasure with their choice to give Sinner more attention than other talented athletes. This issue calls into question the fairness of how the tournament was planned, in addition to the difficulties caused by what they perceived to be unfavorable weather in general. To a large extent, it is unclear how the organizers will handle these issues and guarantee equal court assignments in future Wimbledon events.
