He is a metronome in world sports and is truly an icon for Spain and tennis as a whole. The 21-time Grand Slam winner has been a very accessible player all through the years. He has never shied away from suggesting some tips to a bunch of youngsters.
The latest player to experience this on tour was Japan’s Taro Daniel who got to train with Nadal on his visit to the Rafael Nadal Academy. Daniel even took to Twitter to share his memorable experience and also posted a picture with the Spanish legend and only had positive things to say about him.
“I’ve been practicing with Nadal for 3 days at Rafael Nadal Academy! At this point, it was the best experience I couldn’t afford to buy with the number one player in history,” Daniel tweeted. He then thanked Rafael Nadal for the memorable experience, he added, “Thank you so much @RafaelNadal for these days of training and the @rnadalacademy for letting me come! Rafael Nadal to return on tour at the Madrid Open
It has been a very topsy turvy ride for Rafael Nadal this year. From winning the Australian Open this year to suffering from a stress fracture in his ribs, it has been a season full of highs and lows for the 21-time Grand Slam winners. Nadal started feeling pain during his semifinals against Carlos Alcaraz at the Indian Wells. He reached the finals at that event but unfortunately lost out against American youngster Taylor Fritz.
Therefore Nadal missed out on Monte Carlo Masters and also did not turn up to defend his title at the Barcelona Open. However, he is all set to return to court at the Madrid Open. While there are questions about Nadal’s fitness, the Spaniard has time and again proven that he can never be taken lightly. He enjoyed a career-best start to the season with a 20-match win streak, claiming titles at Melbourne, the Australian Open and Acapulco before the Indian Wells.
