British tennis veteran Andy Murray has been under intense scrutiny regarding his recent performances. His slump in form through the years had forced the four-time Grand Slam winner to move closer to his retirement, and his disappointing loss against Tomas Etcheverry at the ongoing Swiss Indoors has got the fans on the edge of their seats.
Murray started the competition by beating German tennis star Yann Hanfmann in the very first round in straight sets with a scoreline of 7-5, 6-4. With hopes of winning a title, Murray started his round of 16 clash against Tomas on a high, clinching the first set with the help of a tiebreaker, which Murray won by 7-5.
However, right after that, the Brit lost his focus, completely losing the next two sets without putting up any competition. Murray was very bad on services, giving away silly points and committing double the number of double faults as Tomas. Murray bid goodbye to the tournament after a 7-6, 3-6, 2-6 loss, with fans on Twitter urging the player to step down as a professional player.
