Andy Roddick, the former American tennis player has been a part of the Tennis Channel giving his few views of the ongoing matches and entertaining his fans that way. He was asked to pick his favorite player who might qualify for the ATP Finals next year, and the American gave a surprising answer. 

Roddick said on Tennis Channel:

Personally, if I had to choose one, I think I would go with Ben Shelton. The guy's currently 17 in the world, has made runs at Slams already, and all the while he’s still figuring out how to play. I love that post-US Open, he was consistent back-to-back weeks & for the first time found that level of consistency. They told me to pick 1. I wish I could pick them all.

Even since a mind-blowing run at the US Open, Young American Ben Shelton has not stopped there, he has maintained that form to win a couple of tournaments and even helped his team win the Laver’s Cup. 2023 has been wonderful for the youngster who won his maiden ATP title in Tokyo, made it to the semifinals of the Grand Slam, and even broke through to the top 20 of the rankings.

Andy Roddick names a few other players who could qualify for the next ATP Finals

Former American tennis player Andy Roddick has revealed a list of other young stars who could make it in the list of top 8 for the ATP Finals. Roddick said on Tennis Channel:

If you look at Sebastian Korda, Ben Shelton, Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul & Taylor Fritz, we have five contenders for a spot of the ATP Tour finals next year. I don't know when was the last time we could actually say that.

2023 has been a year for the youngsters as more and more players are coming out and showcasing their talent to the fans. In the latter half of the year, Ben Shelton has been building up his fan base with his tennis but other players like Sebastian Korda, and Taylor Fritz can qualify for the ATP Finals but couldn’t. Currently, the youngsters who qualified for the ATP Finals are doing extremely well.

Jannik Sinner just beat Novak Djokovic in his round-robin match whereas Carlos Alcaraz just found a little bit of rhythm in his tennis. With only a few matches left, the fans are excited about the outcome of this tournament and who will qualify for the semi-finals to eventually win the trophy.
