Call of Duty, for the first time, provided operator bundles centered on the Call of Duty content developers last month. Nickmercs and TimTheTatman, two well-known creators, have the distinction of being the first to get a skin in their names in Call of Duty. This has marked the beginning of a fresh change for the game. However, things did not turn out the way they had anticipated.
The newest Call of Duty operator bundle from Nick Kolcheff, aka NICKMERCS, was taken off as a result of his contentious Pride Month remark. It wasn’t until much later that it became widespread and the topic of an online uproar. Many streamers, including Hasan Abi, reacted to this news.
Nick found himself in the middle of a storm of tweets from people who were enraged. The next morning, Nick came with a reply in which he said he stood by his comment and did not mean to hurt anybody. The topic was yet to cool down when another streamer, Hasanabi, took entry into the saga, calling out Nick for playing Apex. Hasanabi jumps on criticizing Nick on his stream
Fans who are familiar with Nick know that he has a soft spot for Apex Legends in his heart. The creator took a break from Call of Duty: Warzone previously to continue playing Apex for a while. In one of his statements in a Q&A some time back, he responded to a question regarding his move to Apex Legends.
To which he responded by saying, “Listen, I’m not saying that I’m going to quit Apex. I just know me, man, I know how I am. Like, when new games come out and sh*t, I like to try it out every now and then. As for currently, I’m so deep in Apex, it’s cra*y – I can tell that I’m going to be here for a while. I don’t know how long that is, but there’s definitely a clock on it.”
Hasan Piker trolled Nick for streaming his Apex Legend game online. And he expressed his thoughts in a pretty graphic manner. HasanAbi said,
“Call of Duty is like more f$&ing in itself ….is like more fu**ing Hoorah, American Imperialism blah blah blah and all that sh*t. Apex is so fu*ing gay, you have to suck a di*k to get better at it ..ok. It’s like wild to me like the most bisexual game out of all the fu**g shooters and that’s the one he (Nick) is playing. He loves it and it’s like he’s saying this kind of sh*t. HasanAbi went on to say stuff about Apex Legend like, “Apex is like a trans character dude.”
The creator got backlash from the internet given his controversial statement about Pride Month. Hours later, Nick finally issued an apology to esports caster Puckett for causing havoc in his replies. Nick did apologize to sportscaster Puckett.
Puckett’s tweet is what he had initially replied to, and Nick felt bad for causing chaos in his replies, and having those who took Nick’s side insult him. He further went on to say, “I don’t have any quarrel with people on the internet. It wasn’t an anti — I guess — gay tweet. That wasn’t what it was. If you think that I hate you because you’re a certain way, you couldn’t be any more wrong.”
Nick now seems to keep a low profile by playing Apex Legend while waiting for the air to clear. But Hasanabi is not letting this go by just yet. Calling out Nick over his stream on Apex Legend. This is an interesting turn of events. It will be interesting to see how things start turning out for Nick as time passes. For more information coming in, keep an eye out.
