Aryna Sabalenka, despite having an excellent start to the season and being able to play well, feels agitated and wants to throw and break rackets. However, she also suggested that she has been able to handle this urge well.
The Belarusian is currently playing in the WTA Stuttgart Open 2023. She defeated her close friend Paula Badosa in the quarter-final round to storm into the semi-final round of this tournament. She will take on Anastasia Potapova in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, in a recent interaction with the journalists, Aryna Sabalenka talked about the situations in which she feels to throw her racket. However, she is always able to maintain her calm in such situations.
“I think it’s easier to stay calm when everything kind of working well to you. And even if you’re like down in a break, you’re feeling your best and you know that you can come back any time,” the current World No.2 said.
“So I would say that the first two tournaments it was easier to stay calm. Then I was a little bit struggle with that, but I think even when something is not working well, I still have this understanding that if I’m going to get crazy, it’s not going to help me. Sometimes I can overreact on some things, but overall I think I’m doing well,” she continued.
“Today was so many times when I was about to just like throw the racquet somewhere and just say, Okay, I’m done. But I don’t know. I handled myself pretty good. Yeah, super happy with that,” Aryna Sabalenka added further.

Aryna Sabalenka wants to win the French Open
The current World No.2 is currently playing in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, but her target is clear. This year she wants to win the French Open ladies singles title. She made this clear in her statement during a press conference on the sidelines of the WTA Stuttgart Open.
“I really want to be in the second week of the French Open. I would say I was just struggling with the Grand Slams before, and it was more about me really wanting to win a Grand Slam and me getting really crazy on matches than something about the clay. Because [the] clay is good there, and it’s one of the best clay courts there,” Aryna Sabalenka had said.
The Belarusian’s confidence is at an all-time high as she won the Australian Open ladies singles title and played the final of the Indian Wells Open this season. Also, she is a brilliant player on clay. She reached the final of the WTA Stuttgart Open on the previous two occasions. She lost to Iga Swiatek in 2022 and Ash Barty in 2021, respectively.
However, at Roland Garros, she has not been able to make it beyond the third round of this tournament in her career. But this time, things can change for her.
