The newly released Netflix series Break Point has hooked the entire tennis community. As expected, fans are absolutely in love with the series as they get an insight into the lives of their favorite superstars. With that being there, there is no denying the fact that the entire collaboration between Netflix and the ATP, and WTA has been a success. One such player whose tennis journey has been inspiring viewers is none other than world no. 2 Aryna Sabalenka.

In the series, the popular personality recalls the horrible time she had to go through after her third-round loss at Roland Garros. While opening up on the dark time, Sablenka noted, “After losing in the third round at Roland Garros, I opened my phone and the first thing that came out was a message: ‘Pu **, you’re going to die’, or ‘I hope your whole family dies of cancer’, things like that.

Continuing her train of thought, she further added, “You look those messages and you feel like you can’t take it anymore. It’s too much. Everyone is watching me lose my temper. I don’t want to play tennis anymore, it’s over. Everything tells me I have to quit. I honestly thought I was going to quit tennis because the situation was pretty bad. However, it was my father’s and my dream, so I thought I couldn’t quit, that he wouldn’t accept it. He would tell me if I’m kidding, that I have to be strong and that I am a champion.”

That’s not all; the Belarusians had to go through non-stop abuse and a lot of mental trauma. It affected her to the extent that, at one point, she felt like leaving the sport. To her true fans’ luck, she fought through difficult times and rose to new heights. Her Australian Open win this year would have erased a few of the blues of the past.

In the semi-final match at Roland Garros, the Belarusian went through one of the biggest chokes of all time. Having won one of the two-time breakers, the match was evenly poised for both players. However, she took charge in the third set and raced to a 5-2 lead. She had match points as well. Everyone was shocked after seeing what was to follow.

Aryna panicked at that point and conceded her crucial lead as she crumbled to a 7-5 loss and was knocked out. Returning to the All England Club after a year’s break, as the Russian and Belarusian players were not allowed to contest last year in London, Sabalenka would like to put on a show for her fans. She would want to erase the bad memories and prove to her fans how capable she actually is.
