The sudden death of Konstantin Koltsov on March 18 has created quite a stir in the sports world. Besides being the boyfriend of Belarusian tennis sensation Aryna Sabalenka, he also used to be a very successful professional ice hockey player.

In fact, between 2002 and 2006, he even played three seasons for the National Hockey League franchise Pittsburgh Penguins.

He was found dead at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort. The Miami-Dade Police Department, which is in charge of the investigation, termed it ‘apparent suicide’ and does not think that there is any foul play associated with it.

However, Koltsov’s ex-wife, Julija Mikhailova, is of the opinion that he surely did not kill himself. As per Mikhailova herself, it is very difficult to come to a conclusion on whether it was indeed suicide or not this soon into the investigation.

It was an accident. We still have the old family computer with Konstantin's email. I knew the passwords and managed to open some emails. Konstantin had further booked apartments in a different location. Purchases that have not yet arrived have been paid for. Rented a car for a long time. That is, he did not intend to die. Anything, of course, can go to your head, but there was no sign of tragedy.

That’s not all; she even suggested that it was probably a drunken mistake because Koltsov had purchases in Miami that had not been paid for yet. For example, he had rented a car for a long time and had further booked apartments in different locations.

She took a dig at the girls who date married men with kids. However, she came clean about the incident in her recent interview and said that she was hurt at that time, which led to those words.

In fact, Mikhailova called Aryna Sabalenka a ‘nice girl’ and further highlighted that she treats her children well. Thus, she has a normal attitude towards the player.
