Two days back, the world mourned the heinous ‘Texas School Shooting’ incident where 21 people were killed including 19 innocent children. A twisted, armed teenager named Salvador Ramos open fired in the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and was later killed in the shootdown. The gunman is said to have killed his grandmother before taking 21 other lives on a chilly morning.

The incident shook the core of US politics and raised a very valid question, “Why are guns still legal in the USA?” While there have been extended debates about the same throughout the country, no prominent conclusion has come up. The blame game between the Republicans and Democrats is heating with every passing hour and the civilians’ question of how many more innocents will be killed remains unanswered.

Many eminent personalities across all walks of life have expressed their sorrow for this incident including 23-time grand slam champion Serena Williams. The tennis legend took to Twitter to condemn the incident and revealed how heartbroken she is. She also added that she has been praying for the victims and people affected by these crimes.

“I have been truly heartbroken by these heinous shootings. I keep praying for the victims and people affected by these crimes. I also Pray for God’s Kingdom to come, but until then we know we are living in times that are indeed “hard to deal with”. Matt 6:10; 2 Timothy 3:1-5” Serena wrote.

But Serena’s kind words weren’t taken well by people on social media. Serena, in her tweet, had written that she prays for God’s kingdom to come. While Serena was praying for God’s peace and the ultimate judgment, people interpreted it very differently. Many thought that she was praying for God to soon bring Armageddon and kill everyone who isn’t a Jehovah’s Witness, which in turn will result in more deaths and hence she is praying for more deaths.
