Things are finally falling in place for Novak Djokovic after a horrendous start to the season. Due to his vaccination status, he was deported from Australia and wasn’t allowed to enter the USA for the Golden Swing. He then won his first title of the season in Rome but lost to Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinal of the French Open. He then won his 21st major title at Wimbledon and last week, won the third title of the season in Tel Aviv without dropping a set.

Cristian Garin started the season by reaching the third round of the Australian Open but by his standards, he has underperformed. He made it to the semifinals in Houston and also reached the quarterfinal in Rome. His best result of the season came at Wimbledon where he reached the quarterfinals where he lost to eventual finalist Nick Kyrgios. He last played in the US Open where he bowed out of the second round.

Djokovic will be the overwhelming favorite going into the match. He has found form once against and after a flawless week in Tel Aviv, will fancy his chances tow in another title. He hasn’t dropped a set against Garin in his career and it looks very likely that the Chilean won’t be able to take one in Nur-Sultan either.
