Francisco Cerundolo claims Novak Djokovic is the best player on the ATP Tour currently.
Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic scripted history in Melbourne last month, as he captured his 10th Australian Open title. His impeccable record at the Rod Laver Arena continues, as it was a thorough dominant performance from the Serbian all through the tournament. His victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the finals helped him level Rafael Nadal’s tally of 22 Major titles.
Argentine tennis player, Francisco Cerundolo believes that Novak Djokovic is by far the best player on the tour currently. He also sent a message to the rest of the field, insisting them to keep working hard. The youngster acknowledged the fact that despite being in his mid 30s, Novak Djokovic was able to win the 2023 Australian Open so comfortably.
“For me, he is the best player today. The best tennis player, the number 1 and the champion of the last Grand Slam. It’s impressive because, with all he has already won, he still wants to play and win. I respect him a lot. And I think it’s a good thing for tennis that it’s still at this level, that it’s still demanding. If we’re going to beat him, we’re going to have to keep working hard to improve because at 35 he won Australia very comfortably. But it gives us an indication that there is still a long way to go,” said Cerundolo.

Novak Djokovic to compete at the Dubai Tennis Championships
Novak Djokovic will next compete at the Dubai Tennis Championships, an event where he has achieved considerable amount of success. The Serb has claimed five titles in Dubai, and will look to extend his unbeaten record this season.
Novak Djokovic struggled with a hamstring injury all through the 2023 Australian Open. Luckily, except for a few flare-ups, the 35-year-old was able to manage his injury. Now that he has had plenty of time to recover, we expect the 22-time Grand Slam champion to dominate in Dubai.
Novak Djokovic also reclaimed his world number one ranking spot from the Spaniard, Carlos Alcaraz. The 2022 US Open champion missed the Australian Open owing to an injury, which resulted in him losing several ATP points. Novak Djokovic will also have one eye on the French Open which will be held in a couple of months. The Serbian has a good opportunity to surpass Rafael Nadal’s tally of 22 Major titles in Paris.
