Besides these players who earned wildcard entry for the qualifying rounds, many Australian tennis players have been handed wildcard entry directly for the Australian Open 2023 main draw. Alexei Popyrin, Jason Kubler, Rinky Hijikata, Storm Hunter, Talia Gibson, and Olivia Gadecki are some of the local names which will not have to play in the qualifying rounds of the Grand Slam tournament but can start their journey on 16th January, 2023.

All these players have consistently played well in the ITF, ATP, WTA, and Grand Slam tournaments over the last few years. Hence, they are rewarded for their efforts. However, many players will also enter the main draw of the event from the qualifying rounds.

Emma Raducanu was the last tennis player to win a Grand Slam title after entering the main draw from the qualifying rounds of the US Open 2021. It is possible that the world will witness the story of another Grand Slam title winner who comes straight out of the qualifying round.
