Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has expressed his excitement about the upcoming Netflix tennis series ‘Break Point’, set to be released on January 13 next year. Netflix’s tennis series is on the lines of an earlier show on the same platform F1’s ‘Drive to Survive. Earlier the teaser of the series was released on Youtube as well as the official Twitter handles of all four Grand Slams.

According to Netflix, the first five episodes will cover everything from the Australian Open to the French Open featuring clips of some of the most important moments of the season with behind-the-stage drama and players’ interviews as well. The series will feature players from both the ATP and WTA tours to achieve a gender-equal proportion.

The series is focused on the 2022 season with the next generation of players at its center. Talking about the timing of the series, executive producer James Gay-Rees said, “All I’ve heard for the last 15-20 years is, ‘Roger, Roger, Roger. Serena, Serena, Serena.’ For a reason, right? Obviously, we’re not disputing that, because they’re legends and icons. But I think it was really exciting shining a light on a new generation.”

The first part of the series will be released before the start of the Australian Open 2023. Yesterday, the tennis commentator Jose Morgasdo tweeted the list of ‘Main Players’ to feature on the first series, to which the 27-year-old replied, “I am bar for the sport….right,” with a laughing emoji. The list contained the names of Matteo Barrentini, Paula Badosa, and Taylor Fritz among others.
