The Brazilian choked and lost even after having a 3-0 lead in the third set. Anhelina Kalinina came out victorious, and the fans have not been kind to Maia after her upset loss.

Beatriz Haddad Maia, along with Victoria Azarenka, recently won the women’s doubles at the Madrid Open 2023. The fans were expecting more from the World No. 10 doubles player. The match lasted for 3 hours and 41 minutes, and she broke down in tears as she was leaving the court after her defeat. The spectators also gave Maia a standing ovation as she left the court.
