American hope Ben Shelton storms his way into the third round of the Miami Open as he triumphs over young Martin Landaluce. In an exciting matchup between the two youngsters, it was the American who emerged victorious, but not before displaying his sportsmanship at the end. 

After the win, the two youngsters shook hands at the net, and just then, Shelton said a few kind words to the Spaniard that left the world in awe. He heatedly wished the players luck for the future, hailing him as the next great player.

For the uninitiated, Landaluce, an 18-year-old hailing from Spain managed to shock the American by putting up quite a fight in the third round of the Miami Open. Though the Spaniard lost in straight sets, he put up a great fight, pushing Shelton to earn the win. With this, he moves on to the third round and is one step closer to another deep run at a tournament.

Frances Tiafoe had suffered another loss at the Miami Open and soon followed Tommy Paul, who was forced to withdraw from his match. With this, the fans turned to Taylor Fritz to keep their hopes up, but he also lost his first match of the tournament. 

That saw the top Americans out of the Miami Open, leaving Shelton alone. Now, he has a lot of hopes riding on him to keep the American dream alive. Shelton is through to the Round of 32, where he faces Lorenzo Musetti next. Another exciting matchup for the youngster, who aims to run deep and maybe win the title.
