Billie Jean King praised Lewis Hamilton for standing up for women in sports

Former American World No.1 Billie Jean King heaped praises on 7-time Formula 1 Champion Lewis Hamilton for his efforts in bringing up women in sports. Lewis Hamilton was very positive about the W series which is an all-female single-seater racing championship that started in 2019.
“100%, I do (support). particularly the W series. There’s not been enough focus on women in the whole of F1’s life… There’s not enough [Female] representation across the board within the industry“, said Hamilton when asked if FI should help struggling junior formulas like the W series.
Billie Jean took it into the bird app and quoted Lewis Hamilton’s words by stating “The F1 W Series (the all-women single-seater racing championship) ended prematurely due to financial problems. Thank you, Lewis Hamilton, for using your platform to advocate for more inclusivity and representation for the women of racing to grow the sport”.

Billie Jean king‘s legendary tennis career is crowned by the 35 major titles she has won. out of the 35, 12 were in singles, 16 in women’s doubles, and 11 in mixed doubles. she turned pro in 1968 and retired in 1990.
King is best known for being the advocate of gender equality and woman empowerment. At the age of 29 in 1973, she won a tennis match against 55-year-old Bobby Riggs (former American No.1 ). This match is later known as the “Battle of the Sexes“. It remains one of the most famous tennis events of all time.
She is also the founder of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and the Women’s Sports Foundation. Her battles against 24-time Grand Slam Champion Margaret Court during her prime years made tennis more popular during the early 1970s.
