World No. 1 Billie Jean King has given her take on new youngster Carlos Alcaraz and the heights he has reached in the last few years. The Spaniard has made an improbable success of winning two Grand Slam titles already. At the pace that Alcaraz is going, Billie Jean feels that he will surpass the three goats of this generation, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal.

King feels that the era of the Big 3 is nearly over and that tennis fans need a new hero to drool over. She also admitted that Djokovic is on his way to becoming the most successful male tennis player, which in the future can be overcome by Alcaraz.

Jean King said, “The men have been totally spooled with Federer and Nadal and Djokovic. Djokovic is probably going to end up as the greatest (of those three) as I think he is going to keep winning Grand Slams.”

She gave her views regarding the youngster, saying, “Then you have Alcaraz, who I adore. I first saw him when he was 18, and I said, I will say now, he is going to be the greatest ever unless he gets hurt. He has brought the drop shot back, and in the 1980s, it used to drive me crazy that no one would use the drop shot. Bring them in. They are on the baseline.”
