This unlikely friendship developed between the two when his girlfriend Louise Jacobi, who knows one of the children of Jon Bon Jovi through university introduced them with each other. The Briton in his latest interview talked about how both the individuals get along with each other.

He loves tennis and I hit with him for a little bit and then we went to his house for lunch. He is really nice and so cool, a very humble guy.We went to a local club five minutes from where he lives and had the hit, he wasn’t recognised and it was very chilled. With some of the people who you come into contact with through your career you get kind of excited, but he’s very down to earth. He came to watch me in practice,” he said as reported by British newspaper The Daily Mail.

Cameron Norrie also proudly mentioned how the American began to like tennis and can be seen playing tennis for a great workout session.

“I think in the last two years he just started liking tennis. He used to run a lot and now he uses playing as a workout. He has a pretty decent technique on his forehand. I thought I would invite him down, and he’s coming to Wimbledon as well,” he continued.

Cameron Norrie will take on Frenchman Gregoire Barrere in the first round of the Miami Open.

The British No.1 started the season by reaching the final of the ASB Classic tournament in New Zealand. Hence, the British fans had high hopes from him. However, his campaign in the Australian Open ended early as he lost to Jiri Lehecka in the third round. But he picked himself up and played in the Great Britain’s Davis Cup tie against Colombia in Bogota, Colombia.

This helped Cameron Norrie as he subsequently reached the final of both the Argentina Open and Rio Open. He won the latter by beating Carlos Alcaraz in the final.

Going to playing Davis Cup in Bogota forced me to play on the clay. I wanted to improve on it with the next Grand Slam being the French Open, so I knew it would be tough but I was able to overcome that,’ he says. I played really well and had a lot of tough matches and I feel like that gave me confidence. I’m playing the big points better,” he said.

However, the main goal he has set for himself is finish the season in Top 5 of the ATP rankings and to play in the ATP Finals at the end of this year. Cameron Norrie is aware what he need to do if he wants to achieve all of his targets.

I have got my whole team with me and we are all on the same page. We stay drama free and all have the same goals — trying to finish top five at the end of this year, then making the (top eight) ATP Finals in Turin and trying to play my best tennis at the Grand Slams. Obviously there are a few things that would need to happen and I will have to go deep in a couple of Slams. I don’t see why not. I’m feeling really good physically, I’m enjoying the game,” he added further.
