Carlos Alcaraz is one of the most popular tennis players on the ATP Tour. As he arrived for the training session at the Indian Wells Open, all his fans flocked to the spot to gain a glimpse of their favorite star. Many were waiting in the queue as he approached towards them to sign some autographs and for selfies.
Meanwhile, a little girl sneaked past the barricades to walk straight towards Carlos Alcaraz for an autograph. The Spaniard acknowledged her and lovingly signed an autograph for her with a lovely message on a ball. A moment to cherish for his little fan.
This incident was captured on camera. American sports broadcaster Tennis TV shared an excerpt of this video on social media.
“One little fan then got through the Alcaraz mania!” the caption read.
Carlos Alcaraz has started his campaign in the Indian Wells Open 2023 on a winning note. He defeated Thanasi Kokkinakis in straight sets in his first match in the tournament. He will take on Tallon Griekspoor in the next match.

Carlos Alcaraz talks about his chances to win Indian Wells Open men’s singles title

With the absence of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz has a great chance to win this year’s Indian Wells Open men’s singles title and climb to the No.1 position in the ATP rankings. He has also started his season well after recovering from a nasty injury which led him to sit out of the Australian Open. Before coming to USA, he managed to win the Argentina Open and reached the final of the Rio Open.
However, in both the competitions, he played on clay surface. In the sunshine doubles, he would have to play on hard courts. But many critics and tennis legends are backing him up. However, unlike others, he does not think that he is favorite to win this tournament. But he does think he can do well.
“On hard I think I’m a very good tennis player, so I’ll give it a try. I don’t consider myself a favorite to win the tournament because it’s been a long time since I played hard. Of course, there are plenty of great players in this roster who have a chance of winning the tournament. I would say that I have my chances of winning the tournament and I will try to take them,” he said in an interview.
