Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will meet each other in the semifinals of the 2023 China Open after much anticipation. Both players have had great campaigns in the tournament so far and have had a great history of rivalry in the recent past. Thus, it is expected to be a brilliant battle that will be worth watching.
When Alcaraz had already made his way into the final and Sinner was yet to play his quarter-final match against Grigor Dimitrov, he was asked about the potential semis between him and Sinner, to which he said that he was looking forward. After all, Alcaraz has a good rivalry with Sinner.
“First he has to defeat Dimitrov, closing a match is always difficult. But yes, I think a match against Sinner is something everyone wants to see. We have played great matches on big stages, every time we have faced each other we have shown a very high level of tennis,” said Alcaraz.
“The level we show on the court is incredible, I think everyone enjoys our matches. If he wins, I will really want to play against him, but whether it is against Grigor or against Jannik, it will be a very complicated semifinal,” the Spaniard added in the recent presser.
