Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz has risen to the ranks in the past few years due to his consistent performances at the highest level. Alcaraz has won two Grand Slam titles so far and has won 12-tour level titles. Although it is too soon to declare him as one of the best, the 20-year-old is definitely on the road to becoming one of the greats of the game.
Alcaraz is already setting precedents for the young kids in Spain to follow. His performance is also being recognized by the surrounding people. While Alcaraz’s peers rate him highly, his coach honored the 20-year-old in his own way. Juan Carlos Ferrero, who guides Alcaraz on the court, has built a court and named it after the two-time Grand Slam champion in his academy.

Ferrero got Alcaraz to inaugurate the court on Friday. The 20-year-old unveiled the signage that showed his name. Alcaraz also gave a small speech, as he seemed to thank his coach for such a noble gesture. Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner, who has been practicing with Alcaraz lately, was also present at the ceremony and was seen capturing the moment on his phone.
Carlos Alcaraz working hard to dominate the 2024 season
Alcaraz is already a superstar of the game at the age of 20 years. The Spaniard’s rivalry with Novak Djokovic has only elevated his level and Alcaraz wants to climb up the ladder. The 20-year-old did not have the desired end to the 2023 season. Alcaraz’s aim to finish as the year-end no.1 could not be achieved. Injuries pegged back the Spaniard.

Nevertheless, as the season is over and the tennis world prepares for another thrilling season, Alcaraz is sweating it out. The 20-year-old is spending some time with his coach before he flies to Dubai and then Australia to kick off his campaign. As Juan Ferrero will be missed in Australia, Alcaraz wants to take all the important insights for the year’s first Grand Slam.
The Spaniard is seeded second at the 2024 Australian Open. The challenges will be double for Alcaraz in the absence of his coach, considering the top players are also in good shape.
While Djokovic remains the biggest roadblock for Alcaraz in his quest for a third Grand Slam title, the return of Rafael Nadal also brings a new challenge. It will be interesting to see how Alcaraz handles the new set of challenges and dominate the 2024 season.
