World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz continues to be the hotshot of world tennis right now. The reigning Wimbledon champion has been one of the most exciting talents in the sport. With a lot of expectations put on his young shoulders, he has been fulfilling them time and again.
He won his maiden Grand Slam singles title at the 2022 US Open, defeating Casper Ruud in the finals. That also made him the World No. 1 for the first time. As a result, he broke Lleyton Hewitt‘s long-standing record of being the youngest World No. 1 on the ATP Tour.
He added his second Major at last year’s Wimbledon. The 20-year-old has won four Masters 1000s, two ATP 500s, and two ATP 250s, taking his tally to 12 career titles since making his Tour debut in 2020. At the Grand Slams, he has made it to the semis at the French Open and the quarterfinals of the Australian Open already.
With a promising career in front of him, he’s the ideal face for big global brands. He is already endorsed by brands like Nike, Rolex, Calvin Klein, Babolat, and Louis Vuitton, to name a few. Among these, he has now signed with German automobile giant BMW.
Alcaraz took to his Instagram account to share a new post declaring their collaboration. The Spaniard can be seen running around a court with the new BMW iXi standing in the court. The advertisement is in Spanish, with the former World No. 1 seen promoting the electric car and praising it.
Believe me, it's much better to do up to 475 km of autonomy in the BMW iX1 than on foot! If you were hoping to find a big, modern and reliable 100% electric; look no further, the electric BMW iX1 is what you're looking forCaption of Alcaraz’s post.
Carlos Alcaraz to return to Clay courts
While many players opt to continue playing on the hardcourt, Carlos Alcaraz will instead be opting to have a change in surface. The young gun will travel to the South American continent to play at the 2024 Argentina Open.
He is the defending champion at the ATP-250 event and will be seen attempting to defend it. Following that, he is set to play at the ATP-500 event in Rio de Janeiro. He was the champion at the event in 2022, which made him the youngest winner of the ATP-500 event since its inception.
Alcaraz will then return to the hardcourts for the Sunshine Double. With a mere 600 ranking points separating him and Novak Djokovic, the Spaniard has a chance to overtake Nole to become the World No. 1 again.
Also, with Djokovic’s fitness concerns keeping him out until March, it is a golden chance for Alcaraz to force the ranking change.
