World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz admits his desire to partner up with Rafael Nadal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. This partnership might be the most sensible one for Spain. However, with both players down due to injury, it seems a little far-fetched at the moment. Nevertheless, the Spanish youngster has revealed his desire to do so.

Carlos Alcaraz’s season was full of ups and downs. His year started well with a Grand Slam win at Wimbledon and two Masters 1000 titles at Indian Wells and Madrid. However, the Spaniard went into a slump after he failed to defend his title at the US Open. Rafael Nadal on the other hand has not been on the tour since the 2023 Australian Open. He has admitted that the 2024 season will probably be his last. However, he wished to close his book on the Olympics in style, alongside the 20-year-old.

Playing alongside Rafa would be a dream. Hopefully, we'll both be fit by then. Representing your country is something everyone likes, I think. I hope to get there in the best possible conditions to bring a medal to Spain.

He also admitted that it was always a dream to compete at the Olympic Games. He was also hopeful that he could do so alongside his idol, Rafael Nadal. While the 20-year-old is struggling with injury at the moment, he hopes to be fit in time for the Paris games in 2024.

Both players have been vocal in their willingness to partner up for the games. While injury poses a real obstacle for both players, this is not the only struggle they will face. Neither Carlos Alcaraz nor Rafael Nadal have represented their nation at the Davis Cup. However, this representation is important for a player to compete at the Olympics.

Carlos Alcaraz reveals that he would prefer to win the ATP Finals over finishing the season at World No. 1

The former World No. 1 admitted that he would rather win the ATP Finals title than finish the year at No. 1 position. While the Spaniard qualified for the season-closer in 2022, he was not able to play due to an injury. However, he revealed that he will try to win the title this year.

In his second qualification for the tournament, Alcaraz is yet to play, despite missing the Finals last year. He aims to outperform Novak Djokovic and win the event. He believes that securing victory in the ATP Final would enhance his chances of finishing the year as the No. 1 player. Nevertheless, the young Spaniard acknowledges the need to deliver his best performance to overtake Djokovic by year-end.
