Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz is delighted about defeating reigning Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner. As the 20-year-old toppled his Italian counterpart in three sets in the 2024 Indian Wells Open semifinal, Alcaraz expressed delight. The two-time Grand Slam champion shared a post on social media to express his feelings about the win over Sinner.

Alcaraz shared a picture of him hugging Sinner at the net and then wrote a caption where he described his feelings. The 20-year-old called the match against Sinner a “brutal battle” and was happy that he defeated an in-form player in Sinner.

Notably, Carlos Alcaraz broke Sinner’s 19-match winning streak on Saturday. The Italian came into this semifinal match with a 16-0 record this season and started the match with a thumping win in the first set, 6-1. However, Alcaraz turned things around in the next two sets and eventually won the match in three sets.

The Spaniard was happy about it and shared his feelings on social media. Alcaraz shared a post on X, expressing delight at the win over Sinner.

Notably, Carlos Alcaraz leveled the head-to-head score between the two players as it stands level at 4-4.

Carlos Alcaraz was elated to inch a step closer to successfully defending his title in the desert. While the Spaniard expressed happiness after defeating Jannik Sinner, Alcaraz also expressed his gratitude to the Indian Wells crowd for supporting him throughout the match.

The 20-year-old claimed that it felt like he was playing in home conditions and stated that it is one of the reasons behind his success at the Masters tournament.

Jannik Sinner also agreed with Alcaraz about the brilliant atmosphere at the stadium. The 22-year-old said that it is one of the best places to play tennis.
