It has been a great year for the World No 1 Carlos Alcaraz. He created history by becoming the youngest year-end top-ranked player. He clinched his maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open and four ATP singles titles in the calendar year. While being grateful for his achievements, he picked his personal best moments of the year.

His withdrawal from the Year-end Championship due to an abdominal injury ended his 2022 campaign abruptly. One of his most remarkable performances has been at the Madrid Open, where he defeated the Top 3 seeds to win his sixth ATP title. He has registered a 57-13 win-loss record throughout the year with an 81.4 win percentage. In addition to that, he has won nine times against Top 10 players in 2022.

The 19-year-old has been voted the Most Improved Player of the Year at the 2022 ATP Awards. While talking about his accomplishments in the year, he talked about two crucial events. He admitted that his triumph at the US Open and being the youngest Year-end No 1 was his personal favorite.

Carlos Alcaraz said during an interview that “It means a lot to me. To get this trophy, the world No. 1, to be part of tennis history along with a lot of legends, for me is an amazing feeling. It’s fantastic for me. I never thought I was going to achieve something like that at 19 years old. So everything [has] come so fast. For me it’s unbelievable. It’s something I dreamed [of] since I was a kid since I started playing tennis.

Adding to his list of achievements, he stands 10th on the list of highest-paid athletes of 2022. The young Spaniard crossed the $10 million mark in his overall earnings through his winning numerous tournaments this season. The biggest prize money earnings came from his win at the US Open which added $2.6 million. Along with it, he stands at the 10th position among the most searched athletes on Google in 2022.

For his incredible achievements, he has been voted the Most Improved Player of the Year at the 2022 ATP Awards. Moreover, he had started the year as ranked 32 but ended the year being the No 1 player in the world. Also, Juan Carlos Ferrero has been recognized as the Coach of the Year at the 2022 ATP Awards for his phenomenal contribution to shaping Alcaraz’s career.

The Spaniard has decided to build his Foundation for charitable purposes. The Foundation will bear its name as the organization strives to promote social and solidarity actions. Also, the welfare Foundation plans to organize a few exhibition matches. Some of the best players around the world, both male and female tennis players will compete against each other in the matches. Moreover, the highlight of those matches will be Carlos Alcaraz.
