World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz has been in a whole different form this year having won six titles with also the Wimbledon Championship in his bag as well. He is currently battling it out at the US Open with a chance to defend his title after emerging as the winner last year. He will be against 2021 US Open winner Daniil Medvedev in the semi-final. A piece of news has popped up recently regarding Carlos playing an exhibition match in Mexico in the coming days.

With Alcaraz making a name for himself with his scintillating tennis, he has not been invited for a chance to increase his fanbase by playing a round of tennis on the western coasts of Northern America. The media outlet, MARCA has confirmed that Alcaraz will play an exhibition match on November 29 at the La Monumental Paza de Toros in Mexico.

Carlos Alcaraz is on the path of following tennis legends such as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal who have also formerly played their impressive brand of tennis in the land of Mexico. Way back in 2019, Federer faced Alexander Zverev in front of a full-house stadium of around 42,517 fans which was a record during that time. The following year the record for the maximum in a tennis court was broken when Federer played Nadal in Cape Town in an exhibition match again.

Carlos Alcaraz was the favorite ahead of the start of the last Slam of the year, the US Open. He has lived up to the hope of all his fans delivering every bit of what his supporters expected throughout the course of the tournament until now. He began his conquest for his crucial title defense over Dominik Koepfer after he received a walkover midway through the match as the German got injured.

In the second round, he picked up a crucial 6-3, 6-1, 7-6 win over Lloyd Harris followed by a 6-2, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win over Dan Evans in the third round. In the round of 16 state, he knocked out Matteo Arnaldi by a scoreline of 6-3, 6-3, 6-4.

In the quarter-finals, it was his first big test against 12-seeded Alexander Zverev but Alcaraz took the challenge really well beating the German on straight sets by 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
