World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz has been on blistering form in recent times lifting the Wimbledon title and now knocking out players for fun at the ongoing Canadian Open. He has already progressed to the quarter-finals of the tournament with wins over Ben Shelton and Hubert Hurkacz in the first two rounds beating Ben by 6-3, 7-6, and Hubert by 3-6, 7-6, 7-6.
But an interesting incident took place at the end of the round of 16 matchup yesterday as Carlos was asked to sign the camera at the end of the match. He went on to write a Spanish message which was later discovered by many as a piece of tactical information to F1 driver Fernando Alonso. Alcaraz went on to pen down a plan for Alonso to follow at the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix.
The message said, “Soft, soft, hard” and “Manual undercut!”. This was a reference to the tires Alonso can use on race day adding a strategy for him to follow for overtaking opponents. The F1 season has now been halted with players taking a few weeks of summer break and it will return soon at the end of August. And now drivers are making the much-needed changes to their cars ahead of the second half of the calendar season.
