Caroline Garcia started the WTA Tour 2022 with some very gloomy prospects. She was lacking in both form and fitness. She ended her season in 2021 after losing to Coco Gauff in the second round. Furthermore, she also dropped to World No. 74 in the ATP Singles rankings.

Her 2022 season also started on a terrible note as she was knocked out of the Australian Open in the first round itself. She even failed to impress anyone in the Middle East as she was knocked out by Barbora Krejcikova and Coco Gauff from the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships and Qatar Open, respectively.

Her campaign at French Open was over in the second round as she lost to American Madison Keys in the second round. However, she won her career’s second Grand Slam doubles title with Kristina Mladenovic when she won the French Open women’s doubles title.

Soon she won her first WTA singles title by defeating Bianca Andreescu in the final of the Bad Homburg Open. She then participated in the Wimbledon but had a disappointing run as she was knocked out in the fourth round of the competition.

The 29-year-old then won the Poland Open and the Cincinnati Masters and did well to reach the semi-finals of the US Open. However, she could not pass the challenge of Ons Jabeur. At the WTA Finals tournament in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, her luck changed as she won the greatest singles title of her career.
