The 2023 Paris Masters is well underway, and the fans are enjoying the cutthroat competition throughout the day. Some players have been playing day matches, while others have been playing night matches. This soon resulted in the players getting less rest before their next match.

Casper Rudd, the Norwegian tennis player, took to the internet to express his views on the Paris Masters organizers’ scheduling of Jannik Sinner’s matches.

For context, after a thrilling Vienna Open victory against Daniil Medvedev, Sinner played his first match of the Paris Masters against Mackenzie McDonald. He won 6(6)-7,7-5,6-1 in a late-night encounter that started around midnight and went on for around 2 and a half hours.

However, the Paris Masters has scheduled another match later on that same day for the Italian to face Alex De Minaur. While opening up about the difficulties many players are facing due to continuous scheduling of matches, Ruud said:

Bravo ATP tour, way to help one of the best players in the world recover and be as ready as possible when he finished his previous match at 2:37 am this morning,14,5 hours to recover. What a joke!

Jannik Sinner is also unhappy with the late-night matches

The bad scheduling of the Paris Masters continues as Jannik SInner is caught in a bit of a pickle himself and has to play another match within 5 hours.

It’s not easy to go on the pitch after midnight, it’s very late. Now I just have to try to sleep and recover, we’ll see how I feel tomorrow.
The Italian said during the post-match interview.

That’s not all; Sinner’s coach, Darren Cahill, was also extremely upset by the tournament schedulers and commented about it on his Instagram. As per Cahill himself, Paris Masters organizers have zero care toward players, and the tournament needs to improve its bad scheduling.

2.45 am. Happy for the Jannik Sinner win but zero care for the players’ welfare with the Paris schedule. Discussions about the scheduling have been gaining momentum and it remains to be seen how the tournament will improve on this. For now, Sinner has to recover in a few hours and gear up for an exciting clash with the Australian.

In a thrilling contest, Jannik Sinner pulled off a win against McDonald to secure a second-round match, which was poorly scheduled in the morning.
