Sharpe and Johnson predict that fans will see the return of Wilson, who won a Super Bowl during his prime with the Seahawks, in Pittsburgh.

In one week, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback room went from Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph to Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Not only did they bring down their salary cap space, but they only parted ways with a conditional sixth-rounder.
Wilson signed a 1-year, $1,210,000 contract with the Steelers. But there are rumors that general managers would prefer keeping him in the Steel City for far longer. The 35-year-old would love to make things work because he aspires to win two more Super Bowls.
Robert Griffin III called the move a steal from the Steelers. Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson presented similar views to Griffin. They too believe that the Steelers have significantly upgraded their quarterback spots. By playing for Pittsburgh, the NFL will once again witness the old Russell Wilson.
During Sunday’s segment of their podcast on the Verizon platform, ‘Nightcap‘ Sharpe and Johnson spoke on several subjects. The pair disagreed on most of it, except that Wilson is a perfect fit for the Steelers. They also concurred that Justin Fields is a long-term investment.
Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson predict the Russell Wilson-led Pittsburgh Steelers record in 2024
It’s hard to make an accurate prediction as to how a team will perform during the regular season. For example, the Philadelphia Eagles went 10-1 in the first half of 2023 but finished 11-6, knocked out at the first hurdle in the postseason.
But Sharpe and Johnson took an educated guess as to how the new-look Pittsburgh Steelers will fare in 2024. The Bengals ring of honor argued that Wilson would finally be able to unlock the young wide receiver, George Pickens.
The 23-year-old came under severe criticism for his attitude and work ethic. Johnson, being a former receiver himself, witnessed flashes of brilliance from Pickens, which Wilson would be able to make use of.
In the end, they collectively agreed on a record.
I say 9-8 and playoffs. They’re definitely going to the playoffs.Chad said
In his long tenure in the NFL, Mike Tomlin has never ended up with a losing record. Yet he was on the verge of it last season after Pickett’s injury, and both Trubisky and Rudolph were struggling to win games. Somehow, they managed to squeeze into the playoffs by winning 10 games and finishing third in the AFC North.
However, their journey in the playoffs was short-lived. The Buffalo Bills dealt the final blow on the wild card.
