Daniil Medvedev proves his class once again as he defeated Denis Shapovalov to enter the quarter-finals. Medvedev won the match 7-5, 7-5 against the struggling Canadian who despite showing some resolve, wasn’t able to take down the Russian. With a straight-set win over Botic Van de Zandschulp in the second round as well, Medvedev reaches the last-8 without dropping a set.

Taylor Fritz had to take the difficult route in the Round of 16 clash against Andrey Rublev as Fritz won the match 6-7(4), 6-2, 7-5 to enter the quarter-finals in front of the home crowd. After sounding wins over Sebastian Baez and Nick Kyrgios in the first two rounds, the successful passing of Rublev’s challenge will surely have the American’s confidence on a high.
