“Will be very hard to beat,” Coach Riccardo Piatti optimistic about Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini’s Chances of winning Grand Slams in 2023
Piatti predicts Matteo and Jannik to have a remarkable season and win Grand Slam titles.

Matteo and Jannik
The popular Italian coach, Riccardo Piatti recently gave a bold prediction for his Italian players in the ongoing season. Matteo Berrettini has been the top Italian player for some time now, however, Jannik Sinner has come up the ranks recently and has been very promising. Piatti lauds his country players and predicts that Matteo will win Wimbledon while Jannik can be dangerous on any surface.
Although Matteo hasn’t played a single match since his first-round shocker in the Australian Open, he is still considered one of the best. On the other hand, Sinner had been very consistent in terms of the results he is producing recently. After losing to Stefanos in the fourth round of the Australian Open, he made a strong comeback in the Open Sud De France by winning it. He also reached the finals of ATP Rotterdam before losing to Daniil Medvedev.
Piatti is confident that both possess the necessary skills to triumph in a grand slam event. Although Berrettini has previously reached a grand slam final and multiple semi-finals, some obstacles are preventing him from taking the title. On the other hand, Sinner is an exceptional talent who is bound to win a grand slam, but he has yet to make the breakthrough.
In a recent interview with Ubitennis, Piatti said, “Sinner and Berrettini can win a Grand Slam this year because they have taken all the necessary steps to get to this position. Jannik can win on any surface, on grass Matteo will be very hard to beat for everyone: for me, it was right to stop and I hope pay attention to how he plays on clay and American hard to give his best on the green.”

Jannik Sinner key to Rafael Nadal’s future in the Top-10

Former world No.1, Rafael Nadal started the year with the United Cup but lost both his matches unfortunately. However, he was the top seed going into the Australian Open as Carlos Alcaraz opted out of the Major. But things didn’t as Rafa wished, as he faced a shocking upset in the second seed itself and thus lost his ranking as well.
The Spaniard couldn’t perform as he wished due to an injury and ever since, he hasn’t participated in any other tournament. Now his top ten rankings are under threat for the first time since 2005. Players like Sinner and Hurkacz, who are currently out of the top ten are knocking on the doors. With Nadal not playing anytime soon, it’s a serious threat for the Spaniard.
