American World No.6 Coco Gauff opened up about the trash talk that exists in tennis but how the social norms related to the game constrain her from doing it. Coco also compared the talks that happen in men’s tennis and college tennis but said it is different in the professional circuit of women’s sport. She also talked about the differences between basketball and tennis mentioning Caitlin Clark in context as well.

As Gauff said, “There could be more banter here and there, So long as you don’t take it personally. You see in basketball, guys go at each other and then they go out for a drink afterward. I think it would make the sport interesting. I think this is something that would bring more fans in. Pretty much every other sport has it. In college tennis, they trash talk a lot.”
