The world of tennis is getting more interesting with the continued rivalries between the players. Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic’s rivalry entertained the fans throughout the year. However, another such rivalry is between the young American Coco Gauff and Polish star Iga Swiatek. These two top-ranked players faced off in the semi-finals of the 2023 China Open, where Iga emerged victorious.

After Iga’s early exit from the US Open, she lost her spot as No.1, and with this came all the hate from the fans. They are commenting on the pole that she hasn’t had a good season and is not in her best form. To this, Coco Gauff surprisingly supported her rival and how it is a dream to have an amazing season like hers.

She said, “I mean, I’ve seen some of the comments people are saying like she had not a good season. I mean, she won a Grand Slam & was #1 forever. I’m like, I would dream to have the season like she had this year.”

This is the fourth time this year that the two have faced off against each other. Iga has always won her H2H matches against Gauff until their match in the Cincinnati finals, where Gauff emerged victorious, and has since not lost a match until now.

Coco Gauff has had a wonderful couple of tournaments ever since her streak began by beating Iga in the finals of the Cincinnati Open, and it was Iga who ended Coco’s streak. This has been the longest-ever winning streak for the youngster, who looks to last longer in the next season.

The Pole now heads to the China Open final against Liudmila Samsonova, where she looks to get back to winning ways. After an early US Open exit, this has been a comeback season for the former World No. 1, who looks to redeem herself with a trophy in her name.
