Coco Gauff has been making progress at an unimaginable speed. The 18-year-old was expected to have a great season on clay but what she has been able to achieve at one of the grandest stages in the world is unbelievable.
She has managed both the Women’s Singles as well as doubles finals. She is on the brink of creating history by winning by repeating what only Barbora Krejčíková has managed to do at Roland Garros just a year prior to her.
The only difference is that she is 7 years younger than Barbora. Coco Gauff has been a dominant force on the courts at the French Open. She has shown that even without tons of experience you could manage to defeat your opponents if you play with the right frame of mind.
She has not only impressed people with her mind-blowing skills on the court but her exceptionally humble and mature speeches after winning some of the most difficult and crucial matches at the highest stage. It seems that she is ready for the big leagues and will certainly have a chance of leaving her mark in history books.
Coco Gauff is just two steps away from creating history
Coco Gauff has been performing exceptionally well at the French Open this year and only some catastrophically amazing performances from her opponents could stop her.
She does have two huge challenges up against her. In the women’s singles match, it is up against the world No.1 Iga Swiatek who is on a fabulous winning spree and it seems she has what it takes to lift her second french open title. Gauff needs to play her heart out against Swiatek or else she’ll manage to sail by just like her other opponents.
In the women’s doubles, the opponents aren’t tough in terms of rankings or performances but in terms of home support. They’ll be up against two french women who’ll have the home crowd behind their backs.
However, Gauff has played some amazing tennis till now and it is certainly possible the young American will take two trophies on her way back home.
