Coco Gauff has blazed the French Open 2022 by reaching her maiden Grand Slam final. She has reached the final without dropping a set in the tournament. Gauff has become the first woman to reach a major final since 17-year-old Maria Sharapova at 2004 Wimbledon. At just 18-years of age, it seems like Gauff has been there for years because she has been playing on the WTA tour since when she was 14-years-old.

Gauff will be face to face with Iga Swiatek, for the title in Paris, who is on a 34-match win streak. She has been playing phenomenally and has shown great mental fortitude in her matches on her way to the final. She will be a tricky test for Swiatek as she has a great amount of variation in her game. Gauff will also be in for a very tough battle as Swiatek has blown apart her opposition like a thunderstorm.

Gauff will need to play her heart out just to match Swiatek, but since the youngster has nothing to lose in the final against a heavy favorite, she will be a dangerous opposition. She was congratulated by Michelle Obama, the former first lady of the United States. Michelle Obama lent Coco her support for the finals in Paris.

Coco Gauff has not only made it to the singles final at Roland Garros, but she has also made it to the doubles final along with her partner and compatriot, Jessica Pegula. Gauff and Pegula were locked in an all-American showdown, where the duo defeated Madison Keys and Taylor Townsend to enter the finals of the French Open 2022.

Gauff will have a shot at both the singles and doubles title at the French Open 2022, and even if she doesn’t win any, the young sensation has done a phenomenal job of making her mark in the tennis world. With age on her side, she will continue to improve and would definitely be one of the top contenders in women’s tennis.
