Even though Gauff has kept her romantic relationship private, she mentioned once during the post-match interview after winning the US Open that she spoke with her boyfriend until 1 AM. As per the young prodigy herself, talking to him helped her lower her stress and anxiety for the match. Firstly, she won the ASB Classic in Auckland, in which she beat Elina Svitolina in the finals of the tournament. It was a dominant win for the American, as throughout the tournament she dropped just one set.

Then, at the Australian Open, she reached the semis of the tournament without dropping a set until the quarterfinals. In the semis of the tournament, she lost to the eventual winner, Aryna Sabalenka, in straight sets.

With that being said, it seems like with her staggering form behind her back, she is one of the favorites for the upcoming tournaments, including the Grand Slams.
