American tennis ace Coco Gauff, who is pretty vocal about social issues has raised her voice on the Israel-Palestine conflict as she demands for peace and harmony. Gauff, who is in Dubai for the WTA 1000 event, has said that she is totally aware of what is happening in the Middle East and does not want to turn ignorant.
Gauff says that she does not like what is going on. The 19-year-old said that she can’t sleep peacefully knowing that young lives are lost on both sides of the border. The reigning US Open champion also pledged to do whatever she can and pray for peace and harmony in the region.

I feel like it would be ignorant to say I’m not aware, I’m very aware of everything that's going on in Gaza, For me, I always say I pray for peace in the region. And I really don't like what's going on. For me, it's sometimes troubling to live the life I live, in knowing that so many kids and innocent people are dying on both ends, but especially in what's going on in Gaza and the occupation that’s happening…Coco Gauff said to The National.
In my position, I know there's not much I can do other than raise awareness and donate. So that's what I encourage everyone to do and just pray for peace and demand peace and demand that this stops happening.Gauff further stated.
Coco Gauff urges people to be aware of their surroundings and demand change
While admitting that it would be completely ignorant to not be aware of this situation in Gaza, Coco Gauff urged everyone to educate themselves. The 19-year-old said that with so much information available online, people should know about their surroundings.

Gauff also talked about demanding change from leaders. The 19-year-old said that she advocates for peace and wants these killings of innocent children to stop.
I feel like it's very ignorant to say you're not aware because it is everywhere, you see it on the news and I think it's important for us as privileged civilians to do our research and just continuing to demand our leaders to make change and I will never not advocate for that. And I do advocate for peace and I advocate for the thousands, I think it's almost like I said millions at this point, of kids and innocent people being killed for a conflict that I feel like shouldn't be happening.Coco Gauff said.
Notably, the world has seen two big conflicts in the last two years. While Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, Israel declared war against Palestine. Both the conflicts are still very active and lives are being lost every day. Amid this tension, many top players on the tour have advocated for peace. Ons Jabeur was the first to strongly condemn Israel’s actions and now Gauff has joined hands too.
