Aaron Rodgers and Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic had to miss out on participating in two out of the four Grand Slam tournaments of the year over his vaccination status and his firm stance on not getting vaccinated anytime soon which was one of the most controversial and debatable topics of the year. It was a major roadblock for the Serbian legend.

Monica Crawley, former US Assitant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs, showed appreciation for Djokovic and Aaron Rodgers for their firm stance on not getting vaccinated falling to the societal pressure, making no compromise on their principles, and doing something that they don’t belive at all.

Crawley has been a controversial icon for her strong, unfiltered opinions and upfront views about her perspective on various issues and has also been accused of plagiarism for an article she wrote in the Wall Street Journal in 1999. She has also been disqualified from joining the US National Security Council due to extreme plagiarism.

Djokovic had a tough year since the start of the year with his deportation from Australia where he failed to defend his title as he was not able to participate in the Australian Open for not being vaccinated even after entering the country with a valid medical exemption which was later squashed. He was criticized for his antics and stance still he did not budge with his perspective.

He waited until the last moment till the final draw of the US Open was out but there was no decision in his favor and had to withdraw his participation at another Grand Slam event. With his absence from the court, he had a substantial drop and fell out of the Top-5 of the ATP rankings. But despite all the turmoil, he managed to win his 21st singles Grand Slam title and 7th Wimbledon singles title defeating Nick Kyrgios in 4-sets in his maiden singles major finals appearance.
