The second season of Netflix’s docuseries Break Point was released on June 21. The ATP Tour took to Twitter to share a 15-second clip of Australia’s Nick Kyrgios, who could be seen in his usual controversial on-court behavior.
Frenchman Corentin Moutet took a massive jibe at ATP for its promotion of the series. He expressed his disappointment over the ATP’s heavy fines on players for expressing themselves and, later on, using those moments to earn money.
“Giving big fines when we express ourselves on the court and then promoting tennis and earning money on those moment Kind of funny,” Moutet wrote on Twitter. And when a Twitter user asked her whether he expresses him by cheating, Moutet saw that the user has Russian great Maria Sharapova’s photo as a profile picture.
The Frenchman, after his mockery of Emma Raducanu earlier, slammed Sharapova, by writing, “Funny that you talk about cheating when your profile picture in Sharapova.” Moutet meant the drug ban, which was handed to the 36-year-old in 2016.

Courentin Moutet will play in Mallorca Open
The Frenchman is participating in the Mallorca Open and is set to play his first match against Christopher O’Connell. Prior to this tournament, Corentin Moutet played in the Halle Open, where he lost to Nicolas Jarry in the Round of 32 and couldn’t get past Aslan Karatsev in the same round at the Stuttgart Open. At the French Open, he lost to Andrey Rublev in the second round.
Meanwhile, Maria Sharapova will retire from tennis in 2020. She hogged the limelight when she won Wimbledon at the age of 17. The ice queen is a five-time Grand Slam champion, having lifted the Wimbledon (2004), US Open (2006), Australian Open (2008), and French Open (2012 and 2014). She also won a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics. The former World No. 1 spent 21 weeks at the top of the rankings and also won the WTA Finals in 2004.
She recently gave her opinion on how world number one Iga Swiatek was depicted in the Break Point documentary series. Though the Russian praised Swiatek’s mental toughness, she also pointed out the Pole’s vulnerabilities.
“Like a machine, she will do everything in order to be the best. I like that,” Sharapova says in a confessional. “But when you see a perfect picture of someone, when they show you that they have everything under control, do they really?”
