“I am going to be dead,” Daniil Medvedev opens up about the concerning condition of his health after suffering a brutal loss against Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open

Daniil Medvedev lost in the final of a Grand Slam again. Reaching the Australian Open final for a third time, the Russian lost to Jannik Sinner in a gruelling 5-setter match. In the post-match conference, Medvedev opened up about the toll it took on his body to play a 5-setter match back to back.
Responding to a question about whether he is ready to run a marathon tomorrow, Medvedev humorously rejected the idea, as he needed to take a flight back home. He revealed his uncomfortableness while taking a flight. He said while smiling:
Tomorrow the way I'm feeling right now, I think I'm going to be, after the flight, I'm going to be dead for a week.Daniil Medvedev said
Medvedev admitted to feeling the worst after his matches against Hubert Hurkacz and Alexander Zverev. He mentioned feeling his energy levels dip during matches, blaming it on a mix of causes such as exhaustion from prior bouts and difficulties with sleep. Despite all of that, he praised his physiotherapist’s efforts to assist him in maintaining his physical fitness during the event.
Speaking about the same, he said:
We really worked hard with my physio especially, he did a tremendous job to every time when I stepped on court I was ready again.Daniil Medvedev added

The Russian powerhouse talked about how in every match after two sets his energy level started dropping. He revealed that he had not been getting proper sleep; since after matches he hardly got any time. Check below how the match unfolded:
Medvedev began the match by showing his control, breaking early in both sets. Sinner, noticeably apprehensive, struggled to establish his rhythm early on, but eventually recovered as the match went on. Despite Medvedev’s early advantage, Sinner battled back valiantly to challenge the former World No. 1.
In a highly contested third set, both players held their serves until Sinner secured a critical break, gaining momentum and eventually winning the set. Medvedev struggled in the fourth set, including a medical timeout for blisters on his right foot, while Sinner’s aggressive play continued to put him under strain.
With memories of previous setbacks haunting him, Medvedev fought valiantly in the fifth set, but Sinner remained focused and capitalized on a critical break at 3-2. He kept his calm, eventually going on to win the Australian Open (3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3).
