Many might, not know this, but Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev is a big gaming enthusiast, and one of his favorite games to play is Tom Clancyâs Rainbow Six Siege, which is an online tactical shooter video game developed by Ubisoft. In fact, he plays the Siege-ranked ladder pretty frequently and is ranked among the top 3% of Rainbow Six gamers worldwide. This shows how much of a big gaming buff the Russian really is.
For Daniil Medvedevâs interest in the game, Ubisoft made him the game ambassador of Rainbow Six Siege back in August 2023.
With almost 3,000 hours logged in Siege so far, Medvedev is an avid competitive player who is currently ranked Diamond, earning his spot among one of the highest tiers of Siege players. As a Game Ambassador, he will partner with the development team to provide feedback on early content and upcoming features.Ubisoft wrote in their statement
The Russian tennis ace has left no opportunity to promote the game ever since and it is good that he does not just do it for the sake of it but he genuinely loves the game itself. Recently, the game launched a marketplace where players will be able to buy and sell skins. Medvedev reacted to their announcement video on Twitter and wrote, âThis is cool!â.
Just a month ago, Medvedev also joined the ownership group of the North American esports organization M80. As a part of M80 now, the Russian wants to use his experience in gaming to bolster the organization and make it better.
Daniil Medvedevâs 2023 season at a glance
Medvedev has been named on the 2024 Australian Open entry list and will aim to win his first title in the tournament of the new year. The Russian had a sensational performance last year but also lost in a lot of finals, which is something that he would like to reduce in the upcoming year and start closing finals.
In 2023, he won the Rome Masters, the Miami Masters, the Qatar Open in Doha, the Dubai Tennis Championships, and the Rotterdam Open. Moreover, he lost in the finals of the Vienna Open, the Beijing Open, the US Open, and the Indian Wells.
Thus, he could have had a much better season had it not been for his plethora of losses in the final. He would definitely look to turn the table starting from the 2024 Australian Open.
