Darren Cahill showers UNWAVERING support for Simona Halep after second doping allegation

Simona Halep was firmly supported by former coach Darren Cahill amidst her second anti-doping breach charge by the ITIA for irregularities found in her biological passport. Simona Halep was given a second doping charge by the ITIA on Friday. Eight months earlier she was suspended after testing positive for Roxadustat. Darren Cahill is a tennis coach and former player. He is also a tennis analyst.

Simona Halep expressed her sorrow and helplessness as she called this entire this a ‘nightmare’.She expressed that she wanted real justice but the ITIA has her hands bound. She said,” Now that we have clearly established that I have been a victim of contamination, they came up with a so-called not normal evolution of my blood. Three world-renowned experts that have studied my blood test have been extremely clear that my blood is totally normal.”

Darren Cahill used social media for showing his unwavering support to Simona Halep.He responded to Simona Halep’s detailed statement about the situation which she had shared on social media. He wrote,” I stand by every single word of my original statement way back in October. My belief and support of Simona is unwavering,” Daren Cahill wrote on Twitter. “I look forward to her having the chance to present her case to the independent panel asap.”

Darren Cahill supported Simona Halep’s request of being judged by an independent panel. She had already mentioned that the ITIA kept delaying this prospect for months and also came up with a second charge in the meantime. Cahill has been consistently supportive of Halep ever since she was charged with the Roxadustat abuse.

Ashleigh Barty showed her support for Simona Halep in this nightmarish situation for Simona Halep. Ashleigh Barty who is a former player said,” I love Simo and I respect Simo. I’ve spoken to her a little bit over the last 12 months or so, just checking in to see how she is going. She is an exceptional person,”.

Barty also said that Halep should be given the opportunity to express herself and defend her position. She also mentioned that she had been in touch with Halep and checking in on her situation for over a year.
