Victoria Azarenka brutally trolls Tennis TV over lower rank of Ashleigh Barty in list of Top-20 one-handed backhands

Barty and Azarenka

A popular page, Tennis.com has recently released the list of the top 20 players with the best single-handed backhand shot. However, they have given the star Australian and former world No.1, Ash Barty a lower rank in the list. This brought mixed reactions from the fans and many popular players. One such player was Victoria Azarenka who was offended that Ash Barty was given 12th.

This list included many prominent players like Wawrinka, Thiem, Gasquet etc. Fans on the other hand had mixed reactions to the tweet of Azarenka. Some felt that Barty shouldn’t be in the list at all. Ash Barty does have a lethal backhand that helped her win some extraordinary points. Azarenka slammed the page and asked them if they had ever seen her play.

It’s possible that the person who compiled the list doesn’t watch WTA matches regularly. It seems like they are more focused on fanboying over male players, and they’ve only included some female names to make it seem like they’re being fair. However, a few other fans agreed to Azarenka and said that Ashley’s one-handed technique is a pure delight to watch.

Several fans tweeted saying Roger Federer has the best single-handed backhand of all time. While others mentioned Stan Wawrinka should be placed higher on the list. However, there were a few others who were disappointed that Steffi Graf’s name was not included and called it an insult to her.

Fans don’t agree with Victoria Azarenka’s tweet

On the flip side, many fans believe that Barty’s backhand was mostly two-handed and it cannot be included. They also reminded everyone that she used to slice with a single hand and that can’t be counted as a backhand. Nevertheless, they urged not to mix a backhand slice with a traditional single-handed backhand.

Although this list is not an official one but was made by the website, many found it to be false and trolled Azarenka for her pick. However, a few fans also asked her if she is playing in the next WTA 250. The others questioned why is she not playing in the ongoing Indian Wells Open.
