The Argentinian star, Diego Schwartzman opened up on the challenges and benefits of social media. He has had a challenging run, both on and off the court, with a record of three wins and fifteen losses in his last eighteen games since his elimination in the third round of the US Open in September 2022. Despite these difficulties, the Argentinian remains determined and resilient.

He recently secured a victory over the Chinese player Wu Yibing (7-6, 6-1), marking a successful start to his campaigns in both Miami and Indian Wells. However, he will be having a bigger task ahead of him in the next round. He is up against the seventh seed, Holger Rune and it will be a difficult challenge for the World No.38.

After his opening round success, Schwartzman spoke out on the hate and said, “It’s the freedom of social networks. If I take stock, I have more people supporting me. Thank God I have this advantage that makes me feel good sometimes.” This 30-year-old reached a career high of world No.8 in 2020, but injuries hampered his form and ever since he lost his momentum.

On Sunday, World No.8, Holger Rune is set to face off against 31st seed Diego Schwartzman in the third round of the 2023 Miami Open. Following a first-round bye, Rune went up against Marton Fucsovics in the second round. The teenager won the first set after taking an early lead of 3-1 and breaking his opponent’s serve again towards the end. In the second set, neither player was close to a break point and it seemed like it would go to a tie-break. Ultimately Rune won 6-3, 7-5.

Diego Schwartzman also received a first-round bye and played against Wu Yibing in the second round. Although the Argentine initially trailed 2-4 in the first set, he managed to level the score and saved set points on his own serve to make it 5-5. Schwartzman won the first set in a tie-break and then won the second set with ease, only dropping one game to win the match 7-6 (7-1), 6-1.

As this will be their inaugural encounter, their head-to-head record currently stands at 0-0. Schwartzman has been struggling this year, enduring several difficult losses. To have a chance against Rune, he must significantly elevate his performance. However, Rune has been performing exceptionally well this season, so he will present a formidable challenge for Schwartzman.
