Iga Swiatek has been in the form of her life in the past few months. The Polish hasn’t looked back for a second and has been tournament after tournament for fun. She won her second Grand Slam and French Open by defeating young Coco Gauff in the finals.

Except for dropping a single set against Qinwen Zheng, Iga hasn’t put a foot wrong in the last month. She has won 35 matches on a run and has been dominating the world of tennis with her phenomenal performances.

Iga Swiatek is just 21-years-old which means she has a long career ahead of her and she is aspiring towards becoming one of the greats. She has achieved a record that none of us would’ve thought she’ll achieve at such a young age.

She left the great Serena Williams behind in the list of longest winning streaks by a single player. She is now tied with Serena’s sister Venus Williams at the top spot with 35 straight wins and is in contention to become the player with the longest winning streak in women’s tennis.

Iga Swiatek in an interview after her win at the French Open talked about the excitement that comes with leaving the great Serena Williams behind in any particular record. She has been in great form but it requires something greater than form to do what she has done.

Swiatek said, “I think honestly, it may seem pretty weird, but having that 35th win and kind of doing something more than Serena did, it’s something special Because I always wanted to have some kind of a record. In tennis, it’s pretty hard after Serena’s career. So basically that really hit me.”

Swiatek is now tied with Venus Williams and will have the chance to catch her in the upcoming grass season. It will be amazing to watch how long could the world No.1 prolong her winning streak.
