Emma Raducanu the reigning US Open champion is currently ranked at No. 10 by WTA which is also the highest ranking reached by her. She is the current British No. 1. Raducanu is the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title at the US Open champion since Virginia Wade won in the 1977 Wimbledon Championships.

Emma is set to take part in this year’s US Open as well. The Briton won the prestigious hard court title in 2021, defeating Leylah Annie Fernandez in the final, 6-4, 6-3. she also rolled through the tournament without dropping a set. It was a dominant display by the 18-year-old from Great Britain, who was not expected to win a Grand Slam title in this little period in her professional tennis career.

As the preparations for US Open started to begin, players started improving their camps. Raducanu has struggled to find a settled coaching set-up since her remarkable US Open win almost a year ago. Emma has recently announced that she is teaming up with Russian coach Dmitry Tursunov which shows that the Briton is looking forward to defending her title.

The Russian has recently enjoyed success with Anett Kontaveit of Estonia, taking her to as high as World No. 2. Raducanu will hope a player who had a reputation as something of a maverick on the ATP Tour during a career that saw him reach the fourth round at Wimbledon on two occasions.

The British No. 1 will also make her debut in the Citi Open in Washington, before playing in the Canadian and Cincinnati Masters events, where 1000 ranking points will be up for the taking in each. That before she plays once again at the US Open and will aim to claim the 2000 ranking points again which she won there the last September.

So the next month will be important to Raducanu as she looks to prove why is called one of the rising stars of the game, with Tursunov the latest coach trying to build Emma’s game all over again.
